This cottage was renovated by Denzil Kerly and his father. Denzil recalled that the house, which had stood empty for some time, had a tree growing up inside it and out of the upstairs window when he took it on. Many cottages in the village stood empty at times and it was not unusual for trees to grow up out of the earthen floors.
