The White Hart was closed in the early 20th century after serving the village for several hundred years as an inn and guesthouse. It became two cottages, one of which was the doctor's surgery for a time, then fell derelict and was condemned to be demolished, but luckily was saved in time and sensitively renovated. It is now called Hart House.
