Alison Lane Poole and her husband, Edward, moved to Harris Farm from Avebury in 1942. She ran the Post Office from Harris Farm during the war and was one of the first teachers at The Burgate School in Fordingbridge. Her daughter, Susan, has written a recollection of the village and another of life at Harris Farm, both of which can be found in this archive.
