In the 1980's the BBC built an African 'village' on Martin Down as the set for a drama called 'The Crossing'. In the film Martin Down stands in for Botswana. There is a copy of this programme in video format in the archive, kindly donated by Paul Toynton who was the warden on the Down at the time.
