- Sir Gabriel Lapp was born in 1618, the son of Gabriel Lapp and Margaret Errington. He was a great grandson of Mary Horsey. He died in 1668. His hatchment was unearthed from an old barn behind The White Hart Inn, now Hart House. It bears his crest and arms and now hangs in the church, along with a note about his family tree.
