- In August 2004, a film crew came to Martin Down to film a scene for 'Pride and Prejudice', starring Keira Knightly.
Fresh chalk was spread on the track to make it whiter and the crew strewed hundreds of artificial poppies among the grasses.
Many people from the village went up to the Down that day to watch.
The scene never appeared in the film.
